There is never a dull moment in the sunny city of Windermere, Fla. In addition to the amenities found in the typical small town, community centers, neighborhood parks and the like, Windermere offers much more. For sports fans there is the NBA team the Orlando Magic in nearby Orlando. The Daytona International Speedway is just an hour’s drive away, and major league baseball is also big in the Sunshine State. Both the Florida Marlins and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays call Florida home.
Children in Windermere get a kick out of being so close to the Walt Disney World Resort. Other area amusement parks include SeaWorld, Universal Studios and the Kennedy Space Center. Types and prices of single-family homes vary dramatically in Windermere. Most Windermere homes average seven to nine total rooms and three to four bedrooms. Prices range from $325,000 to as much as $12 million, though these luxury homes are typically owned by local sports professionals. As 2005 drew to a close, the median asking price was $610,000. In the last few months, however, inventory has risen and is expected to continue rising, giving buyers more power in price negotiation.
